Description

Job Title- OB Ultrasound Technologist
Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic
Location:  Charlotte, NC 28204
Shift- Monday–Friday, 0800–1700 (8-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week).

Facility Overview

  • High-volume outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) clinic specializing in high-risk pregnancies.

  • Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles from facility.

Unit Details

  • 10 ultrasound rooms; approximately 10 patients per day per tech.

  • Minimum 1 year ultrasound tech experience required.

  • First-time travelers accepted.

Patient Population
High-risk OBGYN cases including:

  • Multiple gestation and TTTS assessments.

  • Advanced maternal age (AMA).

  • Pre-existing maternal health conditions.

  • Fetal anomalies and abnormal fetal growth.

Required Qualifications

  • ARDMS OB certification (required).

  • Fetal Echo certification (preferred).

  • NC state licensure not required.

  • BLS certification.

Key Skills

  • Experience with high-risk OBGYN patient population.

  • Independent practice capability.

  • Nuchal translucency measurement in 1st trimester scans.

  • Umbilical artery and MCA Dopplers.

  • Fetal cardiac views: 4-chamber heart, LVOT, RVOT, aortic arch, ductal arch, SVC-IVC, 3-vessel view (3VV).

Department Support

  • Departmental leadership, 2 on-site nurses, peer sonographers, receptionist, MA, and provider/NP support.

  • MFM doctors on-site daily (except Thursday mornings, covered by APPs for follow-ups).

  • No on-site radiologist.

Technology & Equipment

  • EMR: EPIC, ASOBGYN.

  • Ultrasound machines: Client E8 and Expert 22; Trophon sterilizer.

Scheduling & Shifts

  • Monday–Friday, 0800–1700 (8-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week).

  • No on-call, weekends, or holidays.

  • RTO: Supervisor approval required.

  • Floating: Possible to Myers Park OBGYN (5 min away) or NorthPark OBGYN (11 miles), as needed.

Orientation & Logistics

  • 1 week orientation (experience-dependent).

  • Scrubs: Grey and black.

  • Parking: Free.
