Position Overview
Penn Medicine is seeking an experienced and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/Medical Assistant for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Monroe, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking long-term career growth and the chance to transition into a full-time Penn Medicine employee after completion of the required 520 hours.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience in an outpatient/clinic setting and must have prior Epic EMR experience. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced physician practice environment while delivering excellent patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform EKGs and obtain/document vital signs
- Room patients and prepare them for provider examinations
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in Epic EMR
- Administer injections and immunizations per protocol
- Answer and manage provider messages and patient communications
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with daily patient care activities
- Maintain patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care in an outpatient setting
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant
- MUST HAVE Epic EMR experience
- Experience with EKGs, injections, immunizations, chart updates, and vital signs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be local and able to commute within 30–45 minutes of Monroe, NJ
Training Information
- Mandatory 4-hour EMR training on Wednesday
- Training Schedule: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (includes 1-hour break)
