If a travel RN is involved in a code, RRT, or significant event near or at the change of shift, We expect that in anticipation of emergencies throughout the shift, you tag out at the top of the hour to the charge nurse or oncoming nurse. Please provide handoff information as timely as possible—that would not be obvious in the MPages of the EMR. Inform him/her of any outstanding tasks, so that you are able to leave on time. Please do not hesitate to engage our Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), or Nurse Manager (NM) to help assist you with this.
Meal Breaks: All staff are expected to take a meal break. Please manage your day in order to take it at the assigned time. Travel RNs are not authorized to accumulate untaken meal break time. *The only caveat to OT is with exception to the rules surrounding the procedural areas that have on-call and scheduled procedures dependent on staffing—in order to keep procedural schedules on time and to address emergent cases that come in.
