Assignment Details

Position: RN – Telemetry

Duration: 13 Weeks

Location: 4755 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19718

Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts

Hours: 36 hours per week

Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License (must be in hand)

RN License Number and Expiration Date

All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at initial submission (requests submitted afterward will not be considered)

Minimum 2 years of Telemetry/Specialty experience required (no exceptions)

Unit: 7E Surgical

Patient Population: Spine Surgery

Beds: 31–40
-
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5

EMR: Cerner
-
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Schedule & Requirements
-
Night Shift (12-hour shifts)
-
Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
No call requirement
-
Floating required to areas within competency and acuity level
-
May float to units as directed by staffing

Nurse Manager screening/interview required
Unit Highlights
-
Surgical/Telemetry patient population with a primary focus on spine surgery patients

Collaborative team environment
-
Floating support provided as needed throughout the facility
Overtime Policy
-
Travel RNs are not permitted to pick up overtime shifts.
-
Incidental overtime is not authorized and will not be approved.
-
Exceptions may apply only in designated procedural areas with on-call responsibilities and staffing-dependent procedural schedules.
Shift Change Expectations
In the event of a code, rapid response, or significant patient event near shift change, nurses are expected to:

Provide timely patient handoff to the charge nurse or oncoming nurse.
-
Communicate outstanding tasks and pertinent patient information not readily available in the EMR.

Engage the Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Nurse Manager as needed to facilitate timely departure.
Meal Break Policy
-
All staff are expected to take scheduled meal breaks.
-
Missed meal breaks will not be approved for additional compensation.
-
Leadership support is available to help staff take breaks as scheduled.
