Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: 799A PET Imaging Services – Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift – 4x10s, 40 Hours per Week
Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- NMTCB Certification required
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- Cerner experience required
- No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and PET imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety, producing high-quality images, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety regulations
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide exceptional patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within Cerner
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and departmental guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare team members to support quality patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- NMTCB certification required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Experience with PET imaging procedures preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety practices and nuclear medicine protocols
Additional Information
- 13-week travel assignment
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- PET Imaging Services department
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this assignment.
