Job Title: Rad Tech
Location: Hazel Crest, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

● Facility Information

· 30 minutes from Chicago

· 231 Beds

· No trauma designation

· Teaching hospital

● General Information

· Beds: Main department – 3 rooms, ER – 1 room; portables

· Will you accept a traveler with 1 year experience- Yes

· Will you accept a first-time traveler- Yes

● Patient Types:

· Very heavy ER, trauma, inpatient, outpatient, adults, a few peds, general, ICU

· 20-30 patients per tech per day

· No appointment for outpatients, they are all just walk-ins so it can get busy with that

● Patient Ratios:

· 1:1

● Required Certifications:

· BLS, ARRT

· IEMA license

· NO Limited licenses

● Skills required

· General x-rays – chest, long bones, etc.

· Must have acute care experience; will not take a candidate with just mobile x-ray experience

· Fluoro experience is a plus, but no required; for night shift, there will be no fluoro cases

· OR experience is a plus, but not required

· Experience with C-arms is not required

· Need to be comfortable with portables

· If they are interviewing for the overnight shift, they will be the only tech so they need to be comfortable with that

● Support on the Unit:

· Lead Tech will be available on some shifts

· RT 24/7

· Hospitalist 24/7

· Radiologists available during the day (service reads after 10pm)

● Technology/Equipment:

· EMR: EPIC

· Equipment:

▪ General X-ray, ER, and portables are all Client

▪ Fluoro is Shimadzu

▪ Client PACS

▪ Do not need to have experience with this

● Floating: If yes, where-

· No, just portables

● Orientation: (facility and unit)

· 1 week of orientation (can do more if needed)

● Scheduling:

· Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

· On call- If so, what is that schedule- Not required for travelers, but can take call if they want

· Holiday Expectations: Not required

· Approval of time off- To go through manager

· Shift times:

▪ Days: 8:30a-5p

▪ Mids: 2:30p-11p

▪ Nights: 10:30p-7a

▪ 8 hour shifts only

· Schedule cycle: 4 weeks at a time, receive 1-2 weeks prior

· Scrub Color: Gray or gray top with black pants
