  • Purpose: Provide direct patient care while permanent staff participate in Epic training initiatives.

Submission Requirements

  • Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License required.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Electrophysiology (EP) experience required (no exceptions).
  • Recent Epic experience required.
  • RN License Number and Expiration Date required.
  • All certifications with expiration dates must be submitted.
  • Full SSN, Date of Birth, and Address required.
  • All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application.
  • Maximum 3 days RTO permitted.

Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • No weekends unless otherwise required by the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, review medical histories, laboratory results, and procedural consents.
  • Prepare patients for electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, and device implantation procedures.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously during EP procedures and recognize arrhythmias requiring intervention.
  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation according to physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Assist electrophysiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status, oxygenation, and patient response throughout procedures.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and emergency medications as needed.
  • Respond rapidly to procedural complications, cardiac emergencies, and rhythm disturbances.
  • Provide post-procedure recovery care, including monitoring access sites, vital signs, and cardiac status.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate closely with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, anesthesia providers, technologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system.
