Submission Requirements

• Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required (no exceptions).
• Recent Epic experience required.
• RN License Number and Expiration Date required.
• All certifications with expiration dates must be submitted.
• Full SSN, Date of Birth, and Address required.
• All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application.
• Maximum 3 days RTO permitted.

Schedule

• Shift: 12-Hour Days
• Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
• Contract Duration: 12 Weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd Weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every Other Holiday
• Call Requirement: None

• Post-Open Heart Surgery Patients
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Patients
• Valve Repair and Valve Replacement Patients
• Cardiac Surgery Recovery Patients
• Cardiogenic Shock Patients
• Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Advanced Heart Failure Patients
• Hemodynamically Unstable Patients

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to high-acuity cardiovascular patients.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic parameters, cardiac rhythms, and invasive monitoring devices.
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients during immediate recovery and stabilization.
• Manage vasoactive drips, titratable medications, and advanced cardiac therapies.
• Monitor and care for patients requiring ventilator support and mechanical circulatory support devices.
• Perform detailed cardiovascular and neurological assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Administer medications, blood products, and physician-ordered treatments in accordance with critical care protocols.
• Participate in rapid response, code blue, and emergency interventions as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system.
