Assignment Details
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Nights (Variable Schedule)
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s)
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles of the facility
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification (Required)
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential (Required)
- Current Georgia Respiratory Care License through the Georgia Composite Medical Board (Required)
Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The therapist will provide respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders, departmental policies, and established clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and airway support devices
- Assist with emergency airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts
- Obtain and analyze arterial blood gas samples as required
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans
- Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with facility standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in acute care hospital settings
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management and critical care respiratory practices
- Excellent assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Certifications & Licensure
- AHA BLS Certification
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Georgia Respiratory Care License
Note: Candidates must possess all required certifications, licensure, and a minimum of two years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience to be considered for this assignment.
