Registered Nurse – Pediatric Behavioral Health / Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Rochester, NYAssignment Details

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week
Shift: Rotating Day / Evening / Night (D/E/N)
Weekend Requirement: As per unit needs
Holiday Requirement: As per unit needs
On-Call: Required based on unit needs

Unit Overview

Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit caring for patients 5–18 years of age experiencing acute mental health crises.
Focus on patient stabilization through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and multidisciplinary care.
Comprehensive treatment model includes:
- Activities Therapy
- Mindfulness Therapy
- Wellness Programs
- Coping Skills Groups
- Psychopharmacological (Medication) Management
Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, case managers, and nursing staff to provide safe, therapeutic, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Mental Health / Behavioral Health nursing experience.
BLS Certification (American Heart Association only).

Preferred Qualifications

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card Certification.
Previous experience in a large academic medical center.
Strong pediatric psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention, and behavioral management skills.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy abilities.
