Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU
Unit: 6530V NICU GWP
Facility: Gwinnett Women's Pavilion
Location: 550 Medical Center Blvd, Lawrenceville 30045
Assignment Length: 12 Weeks
- Night Shift
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- 36 hours per week
- Variable scheduling as needed
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification preferred
- Active RN license in good standing
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Gwinnett Women's Pavilion provides specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns, including infants born at 22 weeks gestation and greater. The unit manages high-acuity neonatal patients requiring advanced intensive care therapies and continuous monitoring.
Clinical Experience RequiredCandidates should have experience caring for neonatal patients requiring:
- Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Total body cooling therapy
- Conventional mechanical ventilation
- High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
- Inhaled nitric oxide therapy
- Continuous vasopressor and sedation infusions
- Central line care and maintenance
- Comprehensive critical care monitoring and interventions
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status and response to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary care teams
- Support family-centered care and patient education
- Maintain compliance with NICU standards, policies, and safety protocols
