JOB DESCRIPTION
RN - Pediatric Infusion
● About Facility:
o 1001 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203
o Outpatient Infusion Center
o Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● Department Information:
o Beds: 25 outpatient Infusion rooms and 2 procedure rooms
▪ Run typically at 50-60% capacity daily
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Depends on background, will consider
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Infusions/treatments for Hematology, Oncology, Neuro Onc, GI and Endocrine etc.
● Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:3
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o PALS/BLS, APHON
● Skills required:
o Pediatric Oncology and Hematology in Outpatient setting
▪ If traveler is currently working Inpatient, but has strong Outpatient experience previously, will consider
o Must have Pediatric specific experience with infusions
● Support within the Department:
o CNA - Rooming patients and vitals
o Receptionist/HUC? Yes
o Charge nurse? Yes
o Phlebotomy? No
o IV/VAT Team? Yes
o Resource Nurse? No
o RT 24/7? Yes
o Hospitalist 24/7? AP Providers in house during open hours
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Epic
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Client
● Floating: If yes, where?
o No
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o 2-3 days departmental
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend
o No call
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift times: 0730-1800 or parts of that – department has 8, 9, and 10 hours shifts, requisition will depend on department needs
▪ Scheduled days during the week will vary
o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Navy Blue—can have Ped friendly tops but need Navy Blue or White undershirt
