  • Travelers will provide patient care while permanent staff participate in Epic training.
Requirements
  • Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License required.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PACU/Pre-Op experience required (no exceptions).
  • Recent Epic EMR experience required.
  • Must provide:
    • RN License Number and Expiration Date
    • Current certifications with expiration dates
  • All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application.
  • Maximum 3 days RTO permitted.
Schedule
  • 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts
  • Shift start times as early as 5:30 AM
  • 40 hours per week
  • 12-week assignment

  • Focus on pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery for patients undergoing cardiovascular, interventional, and surgical procedures.
Typical Patient Population
  • Pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Cardiac and vascular procedure patients
  • Interventional Radiology patients
  • Electrophysiology patients
  • Cardiac Catheterization patients
  • Same-day surgery and outpatient procedure patients
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive pre-procedure nursing assessments, including health history, medication reconciliation, allergies, and baseline vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for surgical, cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures by verifying physician orders, informed consent, laboratory results, and procedural readiness.
  • Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery care, including airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, pain control, and postoperative assessments.
  • Administer IV medications, procedural sedation recovery care, fluids, blood products, and physician-ordered treatments.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, respiratory status, neurological status, and recognize early signs of post-procedural complications.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, procedural physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedure expectations, recovery, discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system while adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
