RN ICU Stepdown Travel Nurse

Assignment Details

• Position: RN – ICU Stepdown (PCU)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642
• Schedule: Rotating Day/Evening/Night shifts (D/E/N)
• Additional Requirements: Weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as needed by the unit.

Position Summary

The Level II Registered Nurse provides high-quality, evidence-based patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities include clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and participation in research and evidence-based practice initiatives.

The RN may also serve as a:

• Charge Nurse
• Preceptor
• Committee Member

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN License (NYS license only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Stepdown/PCU experience (Required)
• High-acuity Stroke and Neurosurgery experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Recent EPIC EMR experience (preferred for submission)

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Clinical Experience

Candidates must have experience with:

• Q1 neuro checks
• External Ventricular Drains (EVDs)
• Lumbar drains
• Subdural drains
• 3% Normal Saline infusions
• Cardene drips
• Arterial lines
• Carotid endarterectomy patients
• Cerebral aneurysm coiling/clipping
• Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) insertion patients
• Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunts
• Seizure management

Submission Requirements Checklist
