o Primary Stroke Center
o Bed: 74
● General Information
o Beds: 8 labor beds, 1 antepartum, 3 triage bays, 12 post-partum beds
o Experience: 1 year
o First-time traveler: Yes
● Patient Types:
o Cesarean Sections, Laboring patients, Mother/Baby, OB triage, high risk, more complex high risk are shipped out to sister facility, antepartum
● Patient Ratios:
o L&D: 1:1
o Post-partum: 1:1-3
o Staffed according to AWHONN guidelines
● Required Certifications:
o BLS, NRP, ACLS, FHM
● Skills required
o Ability to interpret fetal heart tracings, manage labor patients through delivery
o Needs ability to be flexible in caring for obstetric patient including the ability to circulate for cesarean sections, newborn transitioning, and care of the post-partum couplet.
● Support on the Unit:
o Charge nurse: will sometimes have an assignment, but try to stay open
o Obstetrician and Anesthesia on call, 24/7
o Phlebotomy team
o Fetal monitoring – no tele tech
● Charting System/Equipment:
o EPIC - preferred
o Alaris
o Pyxis
● Floating
o No, only through the areas of LDRP
● Orientation:
o 1-3 shifts based on comfort
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: once per month
o Can we approve time off? Up to 7 days
o Call required: No call, unless traveler voluntarily wants to do it
o Holiday Expectations: 1 summer, 1 winter
