• Department: Women's Health / OB Services
• Beds: 8 LDRP/Antepartum Beds
• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted upon review

Patient Population

• Labor & Delivery patients (>35 weeks)
• Antepartum patients
• Postpartum patients
• GYN surgery patients

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• Laboring Patients: 1:1
• Couplets / Antepartum / Surgical Patients: 1:3

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NRP
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)

Required Skills

• Labor & Delivery care
• NSTs (Non-Stress Tests)
• OB triage
• Postpartum assessments and care
• Newborn assessments and care
• Nursery care

Unit Support

• Charge RN (takes patients as needed)
• Resource RN
• RRT available
• RN performs blood draws
• FHM monitoring at bedside and nurses' station
• No telemetry
• OB physician callback time: 30 minutes

Equipment & Technology

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis

Floating Requirements

May float to inpatient units to:

• Serve as a sitter
• Assist in a CNA role

Orientation

• New Employee Orientation (NEO)
• Minimum one unit shift to learn workflow

Schedule Information

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights

• Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating
• On-Call: Varies by contract
• RTO Approval: Up to 7 days
