Census Average patients/day 8

Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year
o Will you accept a first-time traveler Travel experience preferred
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o General Medical; some Cardiac, Pneumonia, UTI, Chest Pain, fluid overload

Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:4
o CNA: 1:8

Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Skills required:
o PCA, surgical drains, wound care, telemetry – cardiac rhythm interpretation, Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt experience (will accept without but must be comfortable to learn)
Support within the Department:
o CNA: Supports the RN by obtaining VS and blood glucose checks; assists with hourly safety rounds and ADLs.
o Receptionist/HUC
o Charge nurse: Charge Nurse is a free floating for the majority. On occasion, may have a full assignment.
o Phlebotomy Yes, peripheral blood draws
o IV/VAT Team No, we start our own IVs.
o RT 24/7 Yes, available – will need to page for assistance when needed
o Hospitalist 24/7
o Intensivist 24/7
o Telemetry monitoring/tech Yes. Telemetry monitors on the unit.
RNs are responsible for reading/interpreting strips during shift
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Epic
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: No monitors in the rooms.
o Unit specific equipment: PCAs, trachs, complex wound care
