Unit Specifics:
Number of Beds : 29
Patient Ratios : 1:4 ideally, currently running 1:5
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : UC and PCT
Type of equipment : Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn VS machines, bladder scan, vein finder.
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week
Floating policy: All staff float to areas of their competencies
Patient Experience requirements: Must provide safe, high quality and compassionate care

Advanced skills needed: ACLS, familiar with cardiac drip and insulin drips
Procedures performed on unit: N/A
Certifications Required: ACLS
Dress Code: (Required uniform)
Royal Blue Scrubs, no artificial/gel nails
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
VS every 4 hours (may be more frequent based on patient condition)
Blood glucose checks as ordered
Required documentation/assessment every shift

Staff in PCU are very cohesive, they work well as a team. Looking for candidate who works well with others. Staff self-schedule, work with candidates, especially if they like their night shifts 3 in a row.
