Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Temp-to-Hire

• Primary: Limerick, PA (296 West Ridge Pike, Limerick, PA 19468)

• Secondary: PennCare for Kids, Phoenixville, PA (824 Main Street, Suite 100A, Phoenixville, PA 19460)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy outpatient practice within Penn Medicine. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates interested in long-term employment. The Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient daily operations. Candidates must be able to travel between the Limerick and Phoenixville locations as needed.

Schedule

• Week 1 (Training): Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

• After training, schedule will rotate and includes:

  • One evening shift per week until 7:00 PM (Monday or Tuesday)

  • One Saturday per month, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the Phoenixville location

  • Standard weekday shifts between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with rotating hours based on practice needs

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for examinations and procedures.

• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information.

• Assist providers during patient examinations and minor procedures.

• Answer patient phone calls and address routine inquiries.

• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.

• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient visits.

• Follow infection control, safety, and clinical protocols.

• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent certification).

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, or ambulatory care setting.

• Strong clinical and patient communication skills.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Willingness to work rotating evening shifts and one Saturday per month.

• Must be able to commute to both the Limerick and Phoenixville office locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

• Previous experience in primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be interested in converting to a permanent position.
