GENERAL INFORMATION

UNIT SPECIFICS:

• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5–7:1
• Unit Staffing: 2–4 Techs depending on census
• Type of Equipment:
  • Vital Signs Machines
  • Baxter IV Pumps
  • SCDs
  • Bladder Scanner
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Floating Policy: May float to other Med Surg departments
• Patient Experience Requirements: Rehab experience preferred

HIRING PROFILE

MUST HAVE:

• Rehab experience
• BLS
• Active VA RN License

PREFERRED:

• Med Surg experience

ADVANCED SKILLS NEEDED:

• None

PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT:

• Medication administration, including IV medications
• PICC care/administration
• PEG tube administration
• Bladder scans
• Trach care
• Tube feeding
• Foley catheter care
• Bladder irrigation
• Blood administration
