GENERAL INFORMATION

UNIT SPECIFICS:

• Number of Beds: 27

• Number of Staff: 50 RN / 25 Medics

• Patient Ratios: 4–6:1

• Documentation System: Meditech

• Type of Equipment: -

UNIT STAFFING:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 RNs, 2–3 Medics

  • Additional 4–5 RNs at 11:00 AM

  • Additional 1–2 RNs at 3:00 PM

• Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 RNs, 2–3 Medics

TYPICAL HIRING PROFILE

MUST HAVE:

• Completed 2–3 travel assignments

• 2–3 years of ER experience

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume ERs

• Experience managing patient ratios of 5:1

PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT

• RSI

• Sepsis interventions

• Stroke protocols with tPA administration

• Central line placement

• Care of psychiatric patients

• Transfers to other facilities, including EMTALA transfers

• BLS

• Four weekend shifts are required during each four-week scheduling period:

  • Night Shift: Friday or Saturday

  • Day Shift: Saturday or Sunday
