GENERAL INFORMATION

UNIT DETAILS:

• Number of Beds: 36-bed Level III NICU

• Number of Staff: -

• Day Shift: 2 Respiratory Therapists

• Night Shift: 2 Respiratory Therapists

• Patient Ratios: NICU is generally staffed with 2 therapists to cover the 36-bed unit during peak volumes.

• Equipment:

  • Drager VN500 ventilators

  • 3100A Oscillators

  • Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide

  • Vapotherms

• EMR: Meditech and NeoNotes

TYPICAL HIRING PROFILE

SKILL SET MOST RECRUITED FOR: Registered Respiratory Therapists

MUST HAVE:

• Level III NICU experience
• Candidates with 3–5 years of Level II NICU experience may be considered
• NRP certification
• BLS
• Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Cert
• ACLS
• NRP
• NBRC
• ​PALS

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:

• STABLE certification

TYPICAL PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT:

• Attend high-risk deliveries

• Ventilator management, including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation

• Surfactant administration

• Blood gas acquisition and interpretation

• Nitric Oxide administration
