Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU / Neuro Critical Care experience – no exceptions
• Recent Epic experience is REQUIRED
• Active Delaware or Compact RN license in hand
• RN license number and expiration date required
• List of certifications with expiration dates
• All RTO must be submitted with the initial submission
• Additional RTO requests after submission will not be considered or approved

• Hemorrhagic stroke
• Ischemic stroke
• Brain tumors
• Seizure disorders
• Non-traumatic critical brain injuries
• High-acuity neurological and critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring

• Neuro ICU Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients with acute and life-threatening neurological conditions.
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and monitor for changes in level of consciousness, motor function, pupil response, and other neurological indicators.
• Monitor patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes for neurological deterioration and complications.
• Provide care for patients with brain tumors and complex neurological conditions.
• Monitor and manage patients experiencing seizures and other acute neurological events.
• Closely monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, respiratory status, neurological status, and overall clinical condition.
• Recognize subtle changes in neurological or physiological status and promptly escalate concerns to providers.
• Administer medications and treatments according to critical-care protocols and provider orders.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary critical-care team.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, procedures, medications, and changes in clinical status.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR.
• Maintain strict patient safety, infection-control, and critical-care standards.
