Unit Information:

• Beds: 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
• Census: Average patients/day:

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of experience

• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Upon review

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• L&D patients > 35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, postpartum

Patient Ratios:

• Laboring: 1:1
• Couplets/Antepartum/Surgical: 1:3

Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, NRP, FHM

Skills required:

• Experience with above patient types, NSTs, triage patient, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, nursery care

Support within the Department:

• Charge RN – takes patients as needed
• RN draws blood
• FHM at bedside and nurse s station, no tele
• Resource RN
• RRT
• OB MD has a 30-minute call back time

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Pyxis
• Unit specific equipment

Floating: If yes, where:

• Could float to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role

Orientation (facility and unit) :

• NEO
• At least one shift to learn flow

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other
