General Information

• Beds: 13 (12 L&D; 1 Triage; 1 OR)

Experience: 5 years

• First time traveler: Upon review

Patient Types:

• Antepartum, postpartum, L&D, Gynecological post-op (hysterectomies and D&Cs), 20 weeks and up
• COVID/PPE:
  • Adequate PPE provided

Patient Ratios:

• 1:2 Laboring
• 1:1 active labor
• 1:3 couplets
• various gynecological surgeries

Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM

Skills required: Experience with all the above patients, circulate C-Sections, Recover mom and infant

Support on the Unit:

• CNA: 1:13
• OB techs serve as scrubs during C-sections
• Charge nurse: light assignment
• Phlebotomy/RN: draw blood
• OB-GYN on call at night
• Midwife on call at night
• OB-CRNA 24/7 on weekends
• FHM monitoring at nurse s station and bedside
• Unit secretary 0800-1400

Charting System/Equipment:

• EPIC
• Alaris
• Pyxis
• Milktraker
• CPN

Floating: None

Orientation: at least one shift on unit to learn flow

Schedule:

• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• Manager to approve RTO
• No on call
• Holiday Expectations: night before and night after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
