• ORs: 13

• Staff: 25 RNs / 29 CSTs

• EMR: Meditech

• Average Surgical Volume: Approximately 50 hours of surgical time (patient in room) Monday–Friday

• Weekend Volume: Varies; Saturday is typically busier than Sunday

Staffing & Coverage

Monday–Friday

• 0630–1500: 13 RNs / 13 CSTs — up to 10 rooms

• 1500–1700: 8 RNs / 8 CSTs — up to 7 rooms

• 1700–1900: 6 RNs / 5 CSTs — up to 4 rooms

• 1900–2300: 3 RNs / 2 CSTs — up to 2 rooms

• 2300–0700: 1 RN / 1 CST — trauma coverage

Saturday & Sunday

• 0700–0700: 1 RN / 1 CST — trauma coverage

• Saturday: Additional call team runs 2 rooms from 0630–1500

• Off-hours: Trauma team of 1 RN / 1 CST available

• L&D: 1 CST available for L&D call

Candidate Requirements

Must Have

• 3 years of Operating Room experience

• Trauma experience

• Flexibility with shifts and call requirements

• Strong critical-thinking skills

Preferred / Nice to Have

• CNOR certification

• Burn experience

• Robotic surgery experience

• Neuro experience

Typical Procedures & Cases

• Burn: Wound debridement, skin grafting, dressing changes

• Dental: Dental restoration and oral/maxillofacial procedures

• ENT: Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy through parathyroidectomy and cochlear implants

• Gastroenterology: EGD, colonoscopy

• General Surgery: Broad range of general surgical procedures

• Gynecology: Ablations, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies

• Neuro: Stealth procedures, spinal fusions, discectomy, craniotomy

• Open Heart: CABG, fem-pop procedures, fistulas

• Ophthalmology: Vitrectomy, cataracts, corneal transplant

• Orthopedics: Trauma, total joint replacement, sports medicine

• Plastics: Breast augmentation and reconstruction

• Psychiatry: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)

• Robotics: Gynecology, general surgery, urology

• Trauma: Damage-control resuscitative surgery, neuro, orthopedic, and general trauma

• Urology: Cystoscopy, TURB, TURP, stent procedures

Required Certification

• BLS
• ACLS

Dress Code

• Per AORN standards

Weekends & Call

• Weekend call rotates approximately every 4 weeks

• Call may be utilized to cover evening/night staffing needs Monday–Thursday

• Call is distributed evenly among the team

• Typical call shifts are 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours

• Every effort is made to keep combined work and call hours at 60 hours or less per week
