Contract Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse
Location: San Antonio, TX
Shift Time: Start Time: 07:00 PM End Time: 07:00 AM
Shift Type: Night Shift
Duration: 13 Weeks

HIRING PROFILE

Floating Policy: All travelers are required to float.
- During the interview, please inform the traveler of the Methodist Floating Policy.
- First to float to ED holds or inpatient units as needed.

UNIT SPECIFICS

Number of Beds: 36 plus 2 trauma rooms
Patient Ratios: 3:1
Unit Staffing: Unit clerk, pharmacist, techs, midlevel providers, and physicians
Equipment: Standard ER equipment specific to pediatric management
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Patient Experience Requirements: High-quality care

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

BLS
Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
PALS or ENPC
TNCC
Active TX RN License
- Temporary licenses are no longer accepted.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

BLS
PALS or ENPC
TNCC
At least 2 years of ED experience
Experience working in a pediatric environment

PREFERRED / ADVANCED SKILLS

Leadership skills – Charge Nurse or Nursing Educator experience
Experience accessing and performing care/interventions on all pediatric patients
Meditech experience

In-and-out catheterizations
Medication reconciliation
