• Setting: Adult Observation Unit

• Patient Population: Diverse adult observation & admitted boarding patients; short-stay through full admissions

• Unit Volume: 20–27 patients/day; average LOS ~27 hours

• Schedule: Days / Evenings / Nights – rotating

• Requirements: On-call, callback, charge, holidays & weekends as needed

• Experience: 2 years Med/Surg

• License: NY RN License ONLY

• Telemetry: Required

• Certifications: BLS ACLS – AHA ONLY; NIHSS

• Unit Environment: Fast-paced with 24/7 provider coverage

• Responsibilities: Monitor and care for patients requiring additional observation to determine whether they need hospital admission or can safely discharge home.
