Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CCMA) – Rheumatology
Location: 824 Main St., Suite 307, Phoenixville, PA 19460

Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: Flexible within core hours of 7:45 AM–5:00 PM
Interview: In-person/onsite
Experience: 18 months physician-office MA experience
EMR: EPIC experience preferred

Position Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA/CCMA) to support its Rheumatology practice. The position will provide a combination of clinical and front-office support, including patient intake, vitals, phlebotomy, EMR documentation, appointment scheduling, and patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and other clinical duties as assigned.
• Review and update:
  • Medical history
  • Surgical history
  • Family history
  • Smoking history
  • Allergies
  • Medications
• Use the EMR to notify providers when patients are ready.
• Assist with clinical phone communication.
• Greet and assist patients at the front desk.
• Schedule patient visits and appointments.
• Support daily clinical and administrative operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• CCMA certification required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum 18 months of Medical Assistant experience in a physician-office setting.
• Experience with patient rooming, vital signs, and phlebotomy.
• Strong patient communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to perform both clinical and front-desk responsibilities.
• Must be flexible to work Monday–Friday within 7:45 AM–5:00 PM.
• Must be willing to convert to a permanent Penn Medicine staff position.
• Must live within a 30-minute commute of the practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC experience is a plus and should be clearly highlighted on the resume.
• Previous experience in a specialty or ambulatory physician-office setting.

Training

• EMR Training: Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, including a 1-hour break.
• Penn HIPAA Module: 15 minutes.
• EMR Scheduling Training: Tuesday–Friday after start.

Dress Code

• Maroon/Burgundy scrubs
• Candidate may need to bring their own stethoscope on Day 1
