Job Description: RN – Telemetry (RN-Tele)

• Location: Newark, Delaware (DE)

• Unit: 6A Ace Unit

• Start Date: November 3, 2026

• Contract Length: 13 or 21 weeks

• Position Type: Travel RN / Local RN (within 50 miles)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty required; no exceptions.

• Must have an active Delaware RN license or Compact RN license in hand.

• RN license number and expiration date required.

• List of all certifications with expiration dates required.

• Date of Birth (DOB) required.

• Current address required.

• Voice Advantage interview required.

• Nurse Manager screening/interview required.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts).

• Hours per Week: 36 hours.

• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.

• Call Requirement: None.

• Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend requirement is not listed; holiday requirement is listed as every other weekend in the source?

• Holiday RTO: Clinicians may request only one of the following holidays off:

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day

  • New Year's Eve

  • New Year's Day

• RTO Policy: Maximum of 3 days of requested time off (RTO) for the contract. All RTO must be submitted with the initial application. Requests submitted afterward will not be considered or approved.

Clinical Details

• Bed Capacity: 31–40 beds.

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5.

• Charting System: Epic.

• Scrub Color: Navy blue.

• Float Requirement: May float wherever assigned by Staffing.

• Special Procedure: Lumbar puncture (LP).

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• Geriatric care

• Pneumonia

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Altered mental status (AMS)

• Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding

• Acute kidney injury (AKI)

• Syncope

• Falls with fractures

• Stroke

Overtime & Meal Break Policy

• Travel RNs are not authorized to work additional overtime shifts.

• Incidental overtime is not permitted or approved.

• Exceptions may apply to designated procedural areas with scheduled or on-call procedures, depending on staffing needs and emergent cases.

• All staff are expected to take their assigned meal breaks.

• Untaken meal breaks cannot be accumulated or paid as additional time.

• Nurses are expected to provide timely handoff at shift change, including outstanding tasks and information not readily available in the EMR.

• Nurses should coordinate with the Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), or Nurse Manager (NM) when assistance is needed to ensure timely handoff and departure.
