Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED RN)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: 35 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30303
Schedule: Days – 3×12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM), 36 hours/week

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience required.

• Pediatric ED experience highly preferred.

• Strong IV skills required.

• Active Georgia or Compact RN license required.

• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required.

• TNCC certification is a huge plus.

• Previous EPIC experience required.

• Every other weekend required.

• Must be willing to float to other campuses as needed.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 36

• Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 4:1

• Ventilators Used: Hamilton T1

• Common Patient Diagnoses:

  • Sickle cell pain and fever

  • Asthma

  • Behavioral health conditions

  • Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)

  • Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)

  • Pediatric fever cases

• Drips/Medications: Insulin drips, sedation drips, and resuscitation medications. All medications are administered except chemotherapy.

Facility Requirements:

• Nicotine-Free Facility: CHOA is a nicotine-free facility. Candidates must complete nicotine testing as part of the drug screening process.

• Flu Vaccine: Mandatory. No exceptions or declinations will be accepted.
