Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Observation Unit

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 (typically 3 shifts of 12 hours each)
Shift Times: Varying day shifts (examples: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 8:00 AM–8:30 PM)
Call Requirements:

Rotational call approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks
Includes Saturdays (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) and Sundays (7:00 AM–2:00 PM)

Job Description

Provide nursing care for patients in the Cardiac Observation Unit, focusing on pre- and post-procedure care for Cath Lab patients.
Evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care.
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
Perform bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV), including sedation, circulation, and documentation.
Admit and prep patients for cardiac catheterization and cardioversion procedures, including IV starts and access preparation.
Recover patients following conscious sedation.
Discharge patients with appropriate teaching and documentation.
Work with high-risk, high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit), with at least 1 year of recent experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in Electrophysiology Lab
