Job Opportunity: Pharmacist - Pharmacy (Travel)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, hospital employees, and designated hospital areas.
• Practice in accordance with all state/federal and DEA laws, TJC Standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
• Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications.
• Participate in Medication Safety initiatives.
• Manage patient profiles and report adverse drug reactions.
• Mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
• Maintain narcotic accountability.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off, 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday
• No on-call required
• No 48-hour guarantee or blocked scheduling options

Requirements

• Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Sterile compounding experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification

Facility Information

• Unit size: 44 beds plus Emergency Department
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
• Pharmacy open on recognized holidays

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work independently and meet multiple project deadlines.
• Exposure to unpleasant clinical elements such as accidents, injuries, and illness is expected.
• Frequent interruptions and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
