Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Level of Trauma: Level 3 Trauma Center
• Call Requirement: Must be available for call with 2 hours notice prior to shift start
• Floating: Required
• EMR System: MedHost (EDIS)
• Scheduling: No blocked scheduling; 48-hour guarantees not approved; max 1 request time off (RTO) per schedule; 1 summer and 1 winter blackout date depending on department needs
• Uniform: Full uniform required (no specific scrub color)
• Fingerprinting: Required for all New Mexico travelers

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of RN experience in Emergency Department
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Preferred Certifications:

  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Emergency Department using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects
• Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
• Adhere to safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives

This position is ideal for an experienced Emergency Department RN looking for a travel assignment in New Mexico with a 13-week contract and day shifts.
