Job Opportunity: RN - Newborn Nursery (Travel)

Location: Statesboro, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Call Requirements:

• 2 call shifts of 12 hours each per 6-week schedule
• At least 1 call shift must be on a weekend

Job Description

• Provide care to Newborn Nursery patients during the immediate neonatal phase and newborn care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Floating required between departments in the Women's Pavilion.
• Scope includes care of well couplets, GYN patients, occasional float to nursery for well baby holds, and functioning as a transition nurse.

Patient Ratio & Unit Details

• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 couplets or up to 6 patients per nurse
• Unit Size: 21 beds
• EMR Systems: CPN (GE) and Cerner
• Scrubs Color: Navy

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Newborn Nursery / OB
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 2 previous travel assignments successfully completed (prior travel experience required)
• Certifications: BLS, NRP required
• Preferred Experience: STABLE, CPN, Cerner

Additional Notes

• 48-hour weekly guarantees cannot be approved
• Blocked scheduling may be approved if weekend call requirements are met
