Job Opportunity: Pharmacist

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages and designated hospital areas.
  • Practice in accordance with all state/federal and DEA laws, TJC Standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives.
  • Manage patient profiles and report adverse drug reactions.
  • Mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
  • Maintain narcotic accountability.

Shift: Variable (6:00 AM - 4:30 AM or 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM)
On Call: No
48 Hour Guarantee: No
Blocked Scheduling: No


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in acute care and inpatient settings
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

Additional Information

  • Unit size: 44 beds plus Emergency Department
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
  • Holidays: Pharmacy will be open on recognized holidays
