Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Key responsibilities include:

• Rapidly assessing patients' conditions and assigning Emergency Severity Index levels
• Providing immediate life-saving interventions and stabilizing critical patients
• Administering necessary medications
• Coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and appropriate care
• Demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership
• Delegating patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Supervising assigned personnel delivering patient care
• Maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education

Unit Details

• Patient beds: 24
• Patient ratio: 1:4 (general), 1:1-2 (trauma)
• EMR system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Royal Blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1+ years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, SAMA

• 48-hour weekly guarantees cannot be approved
• Blocked scheduling may be requested

Summary

This is a travel RN position in the Emergency Department requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and multiple critical care certifications. The role involves high-acuity patient care with a focus on rapid assessment and intervention in a 24-bed unit. The shift is 12 hours, mid-day to evening, for a 13-week contract.
