Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide full-scope Labor & Delivery nursing care in an 8-bed unit, including Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery (Couplet Care). Responsibilities include:

Intrapartum management: induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation
Circulating C-sections
Immediate newborn stabilization and participation in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Routine newborn assessments
Postpartum and couplet care for stable mothers and infants
Ability to float within Women’s Services
Function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting
Transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs

Shift: Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Patient Ratio: 1:1 during labor, 3:1 for couplet care
Must work 1 major holiday if assignment overlaps
Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Ability to circulate C-sections
High-risk labor management
Pitocin titration
Fetal monitoring interpretation
Participation in neonatal resuscitation

Preferred Qualifications

Previous rural hospital experience
Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model

Additional Information

Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify
Scrub color: Navy blue or pink
Electronic Medical Record systems used: GE Centricity Perinatal, Medhost for orders, charges, and medication scanning
