Cardiac RN assignment for a 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week and a start date of 4/13. This role follows 12-hour variable shifts, including both day and night rotations (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). The RN will work in a 30-bed cardiac care unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:4. The position requires coverage for two weekends per month and every other holiday. Floating may be required to inpatient units such as oncology, neurology, orthopedics, med/surg, and IMCU. During low census, travelers may be placed on call, with callback pay applying and a minimum of 2 hours if called back. Orientation-week hours are not guaranteed.
Requirements:
Candidates must live outside the 50-mile radius requirement. A valid Minnesota RN license is required, along with BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC, and NIHSS. Applicants must have at least 2 years of critical care experience, with preference given to those with prior travel experience. Required skillset includes strong telemetry interpretation, management of acute coronary syndrome (NSTEMI/STEMI), experience with post-cardiac catheterization patients, and care for patients with acute and chronic heart failure. Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology is essential, including medications such as antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and vasoactive infusions. Epic charting experience is highly preferred. An Associate Degree is required, while BSN is accepted.
