Description
Position Overview
Provide specialized instruction and educational support to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school campuses.
Serve as an itinerant teacher, adapting instruction and accommodations to meet individual students’ communication, academic, and accessibility needs.
Collaborate with general and special education teachers, families, interpreters, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and implementation of IEP goals.
Monitor student performance and provide consultation, resources, and recommendations related to hearing-related accommodations and educational access.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) endorsement
Experience providing specialized instruction or support to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
