Description
Position Overview
Provide specialized instruction and support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in grades 6–8, addressing individual communication, academic, and access needs.
Conduct educational assessments, develop instructional plans, and monitor student progress.
Develop, coordinate, and implement IEPs, including participation in IEP meetings and collaboration with families, general education teachers, service providers, and school staff.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure services and accommodations are delivered in accordance with student IEPs and applicable special education requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, Education, or a related field preferred
Valid California Education Specialist Credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) required
Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students at the middle-school level, including experience with assessments, instructional planning, and IEP responsibilities
