Cross Country Education is seeking a caring and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Head Start Teacher in Chester, PA to lead a preschool classroom and provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Overview
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction and activities for preschool-aged children in a Head Start classroom.
Lead daily classroom instruction, routines, and learning experiences while maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Maintain accurate student records, documentation, and progress data.
Partner with families through meetings, conferences, and ongoing communication regarding student development.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field
Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Certification for Pre-K–Grade 4 or equivalent early childhood certification
Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification, along with experience working with preschool-aged children; Head Start or early childhood classroom experience preferred
Ability to complete required background checks and training
