Located in eastern Virginia and founded in 1610, Hampton is the country's oldest continuously existing English-speaking settlement. It also hosts an impressive modern wonder. The Virginia Air and Space Center focuses on the history of flight and space exploration, housed in a futuristic nine-story building that serves as the visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center and Langley Air Force Base. Some of the Center’s highlights include a five-story 3D IMAX theater, flight simulators, a lunar lander and a three-billion-year-old moon rock.
