Description
The TGH Inpatient Pediatric Therapy Team provides PT, OT, and SLP therapy services to patients in the Muma Children’s Hospital, NICU, PICU, and the CARF-accredited Pediatric Rehab Program. The number one goal of our team is to make a difference in the lives of our patients – one day, one milestone, one miracle at a time. In collaboration with our patients and their families, we overcome great obstacles. We achieve and celebrate our successes together.
Our multidisciplinary rehab team provides therapy services in both acute care areas as well as our CARF-accredited Inpatient Pediatric Rehab program. The team creates treatment plans that are individualized to meet each patient’s unique needs and interests. By providing developmentally appropriate care that acknowledges each child’s / adolescent’s need to learn and play, we optimize patient participation and outcomes. We work hard to help our patients reach their goals, and we have fun along the way!
Under the general supervision of the Manager and according to the established policies and procedures, plans and administers treatment and therapy programs designed to assist patients having various cognitive and physical disabilities to achieve their highest level of functional independence. Also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure/Registration: Licensure by the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapist.
- Pediatric acute care experience required
- NICU experience strongly preferred
