Description
Job Summary:
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin X-ray Technologist position involves working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment within a Level III Trauma Center. The role requires performing a variety of surgical and procedural imaging procedures, supporting inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and procedural patient types across all age ranges. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Shift hours are dependent upon posting and organizational needs. Typically, there is flexibility of 1 to 1.5 hours between start times based on staffing requirements. The schedule cycle generally includes Monday through Friday and every other weekend, with one day off during the workweek leading up to the weekend shift and one day off the week following.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification, Wisconsin license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and 2 years of acute or surgical hospital experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fluoroscopy procedures such as ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases; familiarity with general, orthopedic, spine, and surgical procedures; comfort with O-arm technology; proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system; and experience operating GE, Fuji, Del Medical X-ray equipment, McKesson PACS, and Medtronic O-arms.
- Additional Information: Typical patient volume is approximately 15-20 patients per tech per day, supporting diverse patient diagnoses across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and procedural settings. Support within the department includes a lead tech on the first shift, radiologist on-site 24/7, 14 techs on days, additional techs on second and third shifts, along with hospitalist and intensivist coverage around the clock.
