Description
Job Summary:
Physical Therapist Home Health in South Portland, Maine. This role involves providing therapy services to adult patients with post-operative, fall risk, deconditioning, and mobility issues. The position requires candidates to bring their state license on the first day and is suitable for individuals with at least one year of experience, preferring home health background. Candidates must be available to start on 06/29/2026.
Job Details:
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), Maine state license, Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy (PT)
- Skills required: Experience with adult post-op patients, fall risks, deconditioning, mobility issues
- Education and Experience: At least 1 year of general PT experience, with preference for home health experience; valid state licensure in Maine; Driver's license, car, auto insurance
- Schedule: 0800-1700, Monday through Friday; approximately 40 hours per week; option for 4 ten-hour shifts
- Patient Load: 20-25 patients per PT
- Orientation: 1-2 weeks of facility and unit orientation
- Support within the Department: Scheduler; PT leads; leader available via phone
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system: Netsmart; travel between Hancock County and surrounding areas up to 50-100 miles daily
- Float: Coverage within Hancock County; travel required
- Weekend rotation: Every 4-6 weeks, one weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- Holidays: Coverage required for 6 major and minor holidays, approximately 50% of holidays during contract
- Additional Information: Scrub color is business casual or any solid-colored scrubs; candidate is traveling with their husband who is an Occupational Therapist (OT) and already has a position lined up in Maine; candidate open to working an extra week if needed to make up days.
