Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position located in Tacoma, Washington. This role involves providing critical care respiratory therapy in a Level II trauma center with a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers opportunities to work with pediatric patients, including those with cystic fibrosis, chronic tracheostomy, and ventilator-dependent populations, within a highly specialized unit.
Job Details:
- Location: Tacoma, Washington
- Shift Time: Days from 0700 to 1930; Nights from 1900 to 0730
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation, no call, 36 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Active Washington State Respiratory Therapist license (must be in hand or proof of application submitted 6+ weeks ago), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT), minimum 1 year of PICU experience within the last 5 years, experience in critical care ventilator management, use of non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BIPAP/High Flow Nasal Cannula), management of respiratory diseases in pediatric populations including medication delivery and all respiratory therapeutic interventions, proficiency with arterial blood gas analysis (GEM).
- Preferred Qualifications: At least one year or more experience in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit caring for patients aged 1 week to 18 years who have undergone open-heart procedures such as PDA repair through Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair.
- Patient Types: Pediatric, moderate size Cystic Fibrosis, chronic tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients, ECMO program, use of specialized gases such as Nitric Oxide and Heliox, and participation in a cardiac program.
- EMR: EPIC (required)
- Additional Information: First-time traveler candidates with 5 years of experience are welcome. Floating to Emergency Room, Med-Surg, Oncology, and PICU units may be required. Scrub color is flexible, excluding maroon or spice.
- Facility Details: Level II trauma center with a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, approximately 153 beds, operating in Tacoma, Washington.
