Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves providing clinical patient care assessment, initiating, modifying, and discontinuing therapeutic respiratory care procedures for critically ill pediatric patients. An active team member responsible for analyzing clinical data, conducting respiratory tests, responding to emergencies, and managing patient care plans in accordance with hospital policies.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapist registration, licensed to practice in Massachusetts, a minimum of 1 year of related experience, and ability to work days.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric respiratory care experience, proficiency with ventilator management, and familiarity with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Additional Information: Acts as an active member of the patient care team to provide clinical patient care assessment, initiation, modification and discontinuance of therapeutic respiratory care procedures to critically ill patients. Analyzes and evaluates clinical patient data to determine the appropriate therapy or interventions and makes recommendations on patient care plans to the medical staff. Initiates and/or assists with appropriate respiratory tests and procedures, as ordered, to deliver appropriate care to patients. Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports mechanically ventilated patients when moved from units for tests and procedures. Prepares appropriate care plan, and makes specific recommendations to physician for indicated therapy. Schedules patient treatments as necessary and provides consultation as an active member of the patient care team. Manages the administration of all aspects of respiratory therapy according to respiratory care policies and procedures. Makes regular bedside rounds and administers respiratory care modalities to assigned patients. Modifies treatment care plan according to clinical picture and response to therapy. Performs other duties as assigned.
