Description
Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Cardiac Laboratory (CL) RN position is located in Elgin, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a Level II Trauma Center that features Cath Labs, EP Rooms, Hybrid Rooms, and IR Rooms. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position involves handling intra-procedural patient care for adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Job Details:
- Location: Elgin, Illinois
- Schedule: 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays; weekend coverage includes call shifts from 4:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday with 10-11 shifts per month, including two weekends; 30-minute response time; weekend rotation is call only.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of Cath Lab experience or 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience depending on modality of position posted; certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); valid Illinois IEMA license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Impella, balloon pumps, hemodynamic monitoring, and hybrid, electrophysiology (EP), or interventional radiology settings is preferred but not required.
- Support on the Unit: Charge nurse available who may assist with patient assignments and breaks; RT staff available 24/7; hospitalist available 24/7; cardiologist on call during the night; RRT/Code team responds to codes in the lab.
- Charting System: EPIC, Merge hemodynamic, GE Cardio (EP), Siemens equipment.
- Floating: Possibility to float to IR or Cath Labs based on skillset and modality of posted position.
- Orientation: 12 hours of orientation prior to start.
- Additional Information:
- Charge nurse may take patient assignments or break coverage but typically does not take on additional assignments.
- Transportation is available for IR patients.
- Scrub color provided (procedural).
- No sleep rooms available.
- Holidays: Closed on holidays; call team available for 1-2 holidays per contract.
- Approval of time-off to be coordinated with manager.
