Job Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient (SLP IP) position is located in Hilo, Hawaii. This role involves providing speech therapy services within an inpatient setting, with a focus on rehabilitative care for patients requiring specialized swallowing and communication interventions. Candidates are required to bring their licensure for Hawaii on the first day of the assignment. The position is designated as a normal priority, with a start date of 07/27/2026.

Job Details:

• Address: 1190 Waianuenue Ave, Hilo, Hawaii, 96720
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, generally set schedule 5 days per week but likely to include 1 weekend day
• Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii rehabilitation licensure in the appropriate discipline; minimum 2 years of experience preferably with skilled nursing facility (SNF) level or rehabilitation hospital experience; ability to independently complete Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); experience with Meditech electronic documentation system; proficiency in inpatient speech therapy procedures, including rehabilitative interventions
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inpatient rehabilitation settings and outpatient referrals
• Float: Float rotation may be required depending on census and staffing needs
• Additional Information: Candidates must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend the employee health appointment on Friday. Delay in arrival may affect scheduling. Submission to be made through Medefis; no candidate submissions have been received yet.
